 Full time term (3 years) possible extension

Under the direction of and reporting to the Pusiko Development Chief Executive Officer, the Project Manager will use a collaborative approach to provide expertise over the life of the Project.  This is an initial three (3) year term with the expectation of extension.

Roles and Responsibilities 

·         Leads/participates in strategic discussions and negotiations 
·         Accountable for the development and implementation of project governance, policies and procedures
·         Accountable for contactor management, monitoring and compliance 
·         Responsible for comprehensive project oversight including issue management, risk management, change management
·         Responsible for project team and contractor performance management, progress and reviews
·         Is the primary point of contact for contractors
·         Ensures alignment with Nation, regional and project objectives
·         Builds, maintains and ensures fulsome communication with stakeholders 
·         Contributed to community engagement
·         Conducts site visits with the project team including  preconstruction walks, in-progress visits, milestone  walks and closeouts 
·         Ensure performance and document quality assurance and safety inspections 
·         Respond efficiently and effectively to delays, emergencies and other project disruptions or roadblocks
·         Supports project team and contractor collaboration and facilitates issue resolution 
·         Building strong relationships.
 
Qualifications and Professional Experience
·         5+ years managing major construction projects
·         Professional certification, such as CCA’s Gold Seal Certification
·         Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree
·         Knowledge of construction methods and technologies and an ability to interpret technical drawings and contracts
·         Knowledge of building-code requirements and scheduling methods
·         Ability to manage multiple project aspects with an eye for quality
·         Knowledge of construction worksite safety practices
·         Strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to relate effectively, reliably and professionally
·         Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build multi-level relationships
·         Ability to demonstrate tact, diplomacy and professionalism and exercise discretion 
·         Working knowledge of green building practices
·         Demonstrates a positive attitude and approach
·         A high standard of judgment, problem solving and initiative
·         Strong time management skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision
·         Detail-orientated with superior time management and organizational skills.
·         The ability to speak Ininew or Dene is an asset.
·         Must provide a currently clear Criminal Records check and fingerprints, Child and Vulnerable persons checks, prior to commencement of employment.
