• Work closely and collaboratively with technical team members while participating in internal committees to ensure that modelling activities are properly addressed and the accuracy and performance of the ADMS model is maintained for use in the ADMS real-time and study applications.
• Lead the sustainment and development of the real-time distribution network model in ADMS. Tasks include the collection, compilation, and implementation of power system data required for the distribution network model and applications in ADMS, including connectivity and impedance models of feeders, substations, switches, regulators, protective devices, capacitors, and DERs. 
• Model both normal and alternate configurations of the Electric distribution system to support switching operations. Validate and reconcile differences between GIS-as-designed, SCADA-as-operated, and ADMS-as-modeled systems. 
• Perform model validation, using tools to execute power flow validation against SCADA measurements and field data. Develop and maintain data quality metrics and reports.
• Develop load allocation models, integrating future AMI data into the ADMS power flow and outage management applications.
• Establish model data standards for identified model uses, model validation, provide leadership to resolve source model data deficiencies, assemblage of station and feeder models, power flow and advanced applications tuning and model deployment to ADMS systems.
• Participate in the maintenance, system upgrades, benchmarking, and enhancements to the ADMS system and GE Source modeler application.
• Responsible for planning, implementing, validating, and testing model changes to ensure solution integrity and accuracy is maintained for the ADMS.
• Work together with Application Support and Change Management (SCADA) and Data and Software Solutions sections to ensure synergy across transmission and distribution models, data integration, applications and infrastructure.
• Provide on-going support control room operations, diagnosing and creating operating guides for real-time issues related to model inaccuracies. 
• Collaborate with system operation coordinators, change management, distribution operations planning, distribution system planning, SCADA modelling and display team, GIS support team, distribution design group and technology project delivery team regarding distribution modelling and advanced application requirements.
• Contribute to the development of Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) technology roadmaps including but not limited to the Model Manager Environment, the Outage Management System and the Advanced Real-time Distribution Management Tools and Monitoring and Distributed Energy Resource Management system. 
• Provide training for System Operators and other external staff on ADMS applications and modelling.
• Identify opportunities to improve process efficiencies and actively contribute to developing and documenting new workflows.
• Participate as required on inter-utility study task forces and committees concerned with Advanced Distribution Power System Applications and prepare formal reports and technical memorandums.

• Graduate in Electrical or Computer Engineering from a University of recognized standing plus a minimum of six years of related experience in Distribution power system analysis;
  OR
• Graduate in Electrical or Computer Technology Engineering from an institute of recognized standing and a professional member in good standing with Engineers and Geoscientists;
  OR
• Manitoba (Eng. L.) with an approved scope of practice relevant to the duties of the position approved for professional practice by the Director of Engineering, with a minimum of eight years' directly related experience.
• Professional member in good standing with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba (or willingness and ability to attain within a specified amount of time).
• Must have completed Standards of Conduct training or be willing to complete it within two weeks of the start date.
• Possess a valid Province of Manitoba Driver's Licence.
• Must obtain and maintain a current Personnel Risk Assessment and a "Clear" security rating in accordance with Manitoba Hydro policy P513.
• Familiarity with distribution modelling, CYME, power system analysis, ADMS and related technologies, outage management, distribution planning, and geographic information systems (GIS).
• Experience with smart grid technologies and renewable energy integration.
• Knowledge of control room processes and familiarity with control room positions and their duties/responsibilities would be an asset.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively use computer programs to perform system studies and analyze power systems.
• Experience with a variety of utility-based power apparatus, communications equipment and SCADA systems.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a technical team environment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments and with external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct, schedule, and complete work with minimum supervision.
• Must possess initiative and mature judgement with the ability to make and implement sound decisions
