Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Business Process Analyst to support operational, business, and technology-enabled initiatives across the organization. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying business needs, analyzing business and operational processes, eliciting and documenting requirements, and recommending solutions that support business transformation, process improvement, and organizational objectives.

You will work collaboratively with business and technical stakeholders across multiple departments to support cross-functional initiatives, business change, and the successful delivery of strategic priorities. The position requires strong analytical, communication, and relationship management skills, the ability to manage competing priorities, and the capability to drive outcomes in a complex and evolving business environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead cross-functional planning, business readiness activities, dependency tracking, and stakeholder coordination among business, operational, and technical stakeholders to help align business processes with technology implementation.
  • Lead business capability assessments by identifying current capabilities, future business needs, operational gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Facilitate decision-making by presenting options, impacts, risks, trade-offs, and recommendations that support informed business decisions.
  • Apply systems thinking to understand the relationships between people, processes, technology, data, governance, and organizational objectives when developing recommendations.
  • Elicit, analyze, validate, and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements through workshops, interviews, and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Conduct current-state and future-state business process analysis and process mapping to identify operational inefficiencies, risks, opportunities for improvement, and business needs.
  • Develop and maintain business requirements documents, use cases, process maps, workflow diagrams, and other business analysis artifacts.
  • Prepare and present analyses, reports, presentations, and strategic recommendations to leadership, stakeholders, and project teams to support informed decision-making, resource allocation, and program prioritization.
  • Perform gap analyses, root cause analyses, and impact assessments to support business and technology initiatives.
  • Recommend solutions that align business objectives, operational requirements, regulatory obligations, and technical capabilities.
  • Represent System Operations in business analysis and process improvement activities related to operational technology, grid modernization, and Modern Customer Solutions initiatives. Collaborate with program sponsors, business stakeholders, and technical teams to ensure System Operations requirements, priorities, and operational considerations are understood, incorporated, and supported throughout the planning and delivery of strategic initiatives.

Qualifications:
  • A four-year degree from a recognized university in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline, plus five years of directly related experience;
    OR
  • Completion of a two-year diploma from a recognized institution in a related discipline plus seven years of directly related experience;
    OR
  • An equivalent combination of related education and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply business analysis principles, methodologies, and industry best practices to solve complex business, operational, and technology challenges.
  • Experience analyzing, documenting, and validating current-state and future-state business processes to support operational improvements and technology-enabled business transformation.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate discussions among business and technical participants, build consensus, and support decision-making in complex, cross-functional environments.
  • Demonstrated systems thinking, with the ability to understand the interdependencies between people, processes, technology, data, governance, and organizational objectives.
  • Experience supporting business transformation, operational improvement, or technology-enabled change initiatives involving multiple groups would be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of business analysis methodologies, standards, frameworks, and industry best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate alternatives and develop practical, evidence-based recommendations that improve operational effectiveness, service delivery, business performance, and organizational outcomes.
  • Strong facilitation, engagement, relationship management, and collaboration skills, with the ability to build consensus, influence outcomes, achieve shared objectives, and support successful organizational change.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines while working effectively in both structured and evolving environments.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with business and technical participants to achieve shared objectives and support successful organizational change.
  • Experience supporting or managing projects and initiatives within complex business environments, including planning, coordination, monitoring, and delivery, would be considered an asset.
  • CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, PMP, Lean, Lean Six Sigma, Six Sigma, or equivalent professional certifications would be considered assets.
  • Willing to travel both in and out of province.
  • Possess a valid Province of Manitoba Driver's Licence.
  • Must have completed Standards of Conduct training, or be willing to complete within two weeks of start date.
  • Must obtain and maintain a current Personnel Risk Assessment and a "Clear" security rating in accordance with Manitoba Hydro policy P513.
  • Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Training is required and must be completed prior to transfer date and renewed annually.

Salary Range
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The range for the classification is $48.74-$67.29 Hourly, $93,398.24-$128,947.78 Annually.
