The Momentum Centre is looking for a compassionate, community-minded individual to join our team as a Participant Support / Employer Liaison. In this role, you’ll walk alongside Indigenous and Newcomer youth as they gain the confidence, skills, and support needed to thrive in meaningful employment.

This is more than a job - it’s an opportunity to make a lasting impact in the lives of youth, support employer partners, and contribute to a growing movement focused on building resilient workforces and economies centered on equitable access and reconciliation.

You’ll provide one-on-one coaching and wraparound support grounded in trauma-informed practice, build strong relationships with local employers to create supportive work experiences, and work collaboratively with our team to ensure each participant is empowered, seen, and supported throughout their journey.

Momentum Now! is a 32-week employment intervention for youth (18 to 30) who are or are at risk of dependency on income supports. Through a unique blend of professional development and paid work experience, TMC works with youth to equip them with the tools, confidence, and real-world exposure they need to thrive in today’s workforce.

  • Demonstrate consistent self-awareness, self-reflection and self-assessment, self-management, self-regulation and self-compassion.
  • Practice excellent effective communication and conflict transformation skills.  Is open to feedback and coaching and excited about learning.
  • Practice, model, and demonstrate power sharing and an attitude of gentle interest and curiosity, beginning with the assumption that participants are competent and have valuable expertise to share.
  • Deliver support from a strong participant empowerment perspective.  Assist participants to identify internal motivations, build resiliency, and develop leadership abilities. Are empathetic while being able to give clear and direct feedback, maintaining dignity and building trust.
  • Have excellent crisis intervention skills and knowledge of resources. Are able to accurately assess participant barriers and supports needed. Understand trauma informed practices.
  • Possess a good understanding of workplace needs and workplace cultures to successfully provide coaching for participants to meet expectations and thrive.
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding and appreciation of Indigenous and Newcomer participants’ backgrounds, cultures, and needs. 
  • Can coach participants in job search skills, including resume and cover letter development, handling job interviews, etc.
  • Are comfortable cold calling employers and finding placements and maintains excellent working relationships with employers.
  • Have a minimum of three years related work experience and post-secondary education.
  • Have a valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle.
