AUTHORITY 

The Inclusive Education Services Facilitator works under the direction of the Specialized Education Team Lead, who in turn reports to the Assistant Director of Inclusive Education Services.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Inclusive Education Services Facilitator is a member of an interdisciplinary school-based team of professionals and is responsible for providing specialized case management services to First Nations schools in Manitoba. This will include assessment, programming, therapeutic intervention, and consultative services within the three-tiered service delivery model to enhance access to academics and participation in the school environment

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • A Bachelor of Education Degree with Special Education Teacher certification;
  • A minimum of five years’ classroom teaching experience;
  • A minimum of three years working in the area of resource programming;
  • Experience working with First Nations in the field of education;
  • Appreciation and respect for First Nations self-determination and education reform strategies
  • Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural skills to work in a First Nations environment;
  • Fluency in a First Nations language is considered an asset;
  • Familiarity with federal and provincial legislation;
  • Ability to relate to and communicate with children, parents/caregivers, and other professionals;
  •  Excellent oral and written communication skills in technical and plain language writing;
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of an inter-disciplinary team of professionals;
  •  Computer proficiency;
  •  Possess a valid Class 5 Drivers License and a reliable vehicle;
  •  Criminal Record check including Vulnerable Sector check and Child Abuse Registry check.
