The Jane's Operations Team supports the delivery of front-of-house service for Jane's, RRC Polytech's public-facing teaching restaurant. Working alongside Operations staff, instructors, and students, the team helps create an authentic restaurant environment that supports experiential learning within the Culinary Arts program. Through lunch and evening service the team delivers exceptional guest experiences while contributing to student success and industry-ready learning opportunities.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING
- Experience serving in a full-service restaurant or experience serving in Jane’s as a student of Hospitality or Culinary Arts
- Demonstrated experience providing exceptional customer service and creating a positive guest experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with guests, students, and colleagues
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail when taking orders, serving guests, and handling payments
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple tables, and remain calm under pressure
- Experience using a Point-of-Sale (POS) system for order entry and payment processing
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform the physical duties associated with restaurant service
- Flexibility to work daytime lunch shifts and adapt to changing operational and academic requirements. Smart Choices or other responsible alcohol service certification
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement
NICE TO HAVE
- Openness to using AI tools as relevant to role specific work
- Knowledge of fine dining or upscale casual service standards

- Salary Range for this position: $16.72 - $20.74 hourly
- Generous Paid Vacation: full-time employees accumulate a minimum of 15-days vacation per year, increasing to 30 days with service, while full-time Instructors accumulate 44 days per year. Information on casual and part-time vacation accrual is outlined in the Collective Agreement or the Terms and Conditions for Excluded Employees as applicable
- December Break: employees receive time off with pay during the period between Boxing Day and New Year's Day

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

- This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends
- Incumbent must be physically capable of performing the duties and responsibilities of the position. A medical certificate from a certified physician will be required
