• Contribute positively to the development and success of the Utility team while supporting the achievement of departmental goals.
• Operate a variety of equipment in support of Electrical and Mechanical crews, including overhead cranes, telehandlers, skid steers and attachments, forklifts, front-end loaders, excavators, aerial work platforms, wheel loaders, boom trucks, rough-terrain cranes, and truck-mounted telescopic and mobile cranes up to 60 tonnes.
• Safely operate, inspect, and maintain assigned vehicles, equipment, and attachments.
• Perform pre-operational inspections, routine servicing, lubrication, and minor maintenance on assigned equipment.
• Provide direction, guidance, and on-the-job training to junior personnel.
• Adhere to all Safe Work Procedures, safety regulations, and Manitoba Hydro standards.
• Operate and maintain a variety of power tools, hand tools, and specialized equipment.
• Ensure vehicles are operated and maintained in accordance with the Highway Traffic Act and company requirements.
• Assist with operations and maintenance activities at Riel and Dorsey Converter Stations.
• Safely handle, secure, transport, and haul heavy equipment, materials, and apparatus.
• Perform rigging activities using slings, cables, sheaves, and related equipment in accordance with established safety practices.
• Work from scaffolding, aerial devices, bucket trucks, and within confined spaces as required.
• Perform duties outdoors and in a wide range of weather and environmental conditions.
• Comply with all corporate and regulatory environmental requirements and procedures.
• Report environmental incidents, hazards, or non-compliance concerns to the supervisor in a timely manner.
• Assist with and, when required, lead the loading and unloading of equipment and materials.
• Travel and work at various locations as operational requirements dictate.

• Journeyperson Crane Operator certification with Red Seal endorsement.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a current Personnel Risk Assessment and a Clear security rating in accordance with company requirements.
• Successful completion of Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) training prior to appointment and annual recertification thereafter.
• Demonstrated experience operating heavy equipment and machinery associated with the position.
• Must possess, or be able to obtain, the required Equipment Operator's Permit(s) applicable to the equipment being operated.
• Thorough knowledge of equipment operation, maintenance practices, and service requirements.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and exercise sound judgment in a safety-sensitive environment.
• Strong understanding of workplace safety practices, occupational health regulations, environmental responsibilities, and safe work procedures.
• Ability to effectively lead, train, and mentor employees in safe and efficient work practices.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid Manitoba Class 3 Driver's Licence with Air Brake Endorsement, maintained in good standing.
• Current certifications in Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS), or the ability to obtain and maintain them.
• Physically capable of performing the duties of the position, including working at heights, in confined spaces, and in other challenging work environments.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and respond to operational and emergency situations as required.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive working relationships and contribute effectively within a team environment.
