Position Overview
The Private Home Placement Coordinator (PHPC) is responsible for developing and managing the Private Home Placement policies, procedures and initiatives relating to student enrollment, retention and providing on-going support to students. The PHPC should possess extensive experience and knowledge, both historic and current on First Nations' education and actively participate in various initiatives in developing First Nations' education on Reserve, at both national and provincial levels.

Qualifications, Education, Experience
- Post-Secondary training in Business or Administration;
- Minimum of three (3) years Administrative experience working directly with First Nations' people/or training in a high school setting;
- Applied Counselling Certificate or working towards certification will be also be considered;
- Knowledge of high school prgramming;
- Basic knowledge of record keeping and report writing;
- Ability to develop and maintain effective contact/communications with students, agencies, parents/guardians, and school administration;
- Knowledgeable of Manitoba First Nations education development and reforms and socio-economic conditions of First Nations communities;
- Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural skills to work in a First Nations environment;
- Effective communcation in plain and technical langauge, both written and oral;
- Fluency in a First Nations' language is considered as asset;
- Computer literate and proficient;
- Experience in professional practice in an area relevant to First Nations' children and families;
- School realted experience and knowledge of educational issues is considered an asset;
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team of professionals;
- Must possess a valid Class 5 Drivers' License and a reliable vehicle;
- Ability to travel to schools and communities throughout Manitoba;
- Clearance of a satisfactory Criminal Record/Vulnerable Sector and Child Abuse Registry Checks.
