ABOUT THE TEAM
As part of the Finance and Administration division, the Facility Operations team plays a vital role in supporting the RRC Polytech’s mission through the effective stewardship of its physical assets and infrastructure. The team is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of campus buildings, grounds, and infrastructure across multiple sites, and is committed to service excellence, continuous improvement, and responsible resource management. Working collaboratively with other departments, staff and faculty across RRC Polytech, the Facility Operations team supports the maintenance of academic, research and support spaces to ensure a safe and functional learning and working environment.
 
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Lead the day-to-day operations of building maintenance activities across assigned campuses and facilities. Manage and support skilled trades personnel, contractors, and service providers while ensuring facilities, building systems, and life safety infrastructure are maintained in a safe, reliable, and efficient manner. Oversee preventative and corrective maintenance programs, coordinate emergency response activities, manage budgets and resources, and ensure compliance with applicable legislation, codes, policies, and procedures. Foster a culture of safety, accountability, customer service, and continuous improvement while supporting the College's long-term asset management and operational objectives.
 
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
  • Certificate or recognized professional designation in a relevant technical or facility management discipline, including, recognized Journeyperson designation in a related trade; or3rd Class Power Engineer Certificate or higher; or recognized facility management designation; or CTTAM designation or an equivalent combination of relevant education, training and experience may be considered
  • Extensive experience in building operations and maintenance within a multi-building complex environment.
  • Experience supervising trades and maintenance personnel in a large, complex facility environment
  • Experience managing budgets and using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
  • Knowledge of Federal, Provincial and Municipal codes, regulations and by laws
  • Experience in resolving employee relations issues within the guidelines of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and applicable Policies
  • Excellent leadership, communication, customer service, conflict resolution, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement
 
NICE TO HAVE
  • Openness to using AI tools as relevant to role specific work
  • Familiarity with AI tools and willingness to adopt new technologies
  • Leadership development or supervisory training
  • Experience managing maintenance operations in a post-secondary, institutional, healthcare, or large public-sector environment
  • Facility Management Administrator (FMA) designation, Certified Technicians and Technologists Association of Manitoba (CTTAM) designation, or equivalent professional designation

  • Salary Range for this position:  $80,059 - $112,860 per annum
  • Generous Paid Vacation: full-time employees accumulate a minimum of 15-days vacation per year, increasing to 30 days with service, while full-time Instructors accumulate 44 days per year.
