Reporting to the Chair, Adult Education and Teaching Excellence, Red River College Polytechnic is looking for an Educational Assistant fluent in Mandarin to support the Post-Graduate Certificate in Adult Education (PGCAE). The Educational Assistant aids students and faculty ensuring seamless delivery of course material and effective student support for successful outcomes. Responsibilities will include online support for instructional activities, assignments, and course content comprehension. As a PGCAE Educational Assistant, you will augment and explain course content, provide meaningful feedback informed by real-world teaching experience, and provide one-on-one and small group supports.

The incumbent may support the following courses: Teaching Adults, Teaching Adults Methods and Principles, Effective Learning Environments, Assessment for Learning and Teaching, and/or Course Planning.
The successful applicant will provide two to five hours (weekly) of part-time support to students and faculty remotely in a virtual environment. The applicant may be required to perform duties or attend meetings in-person on an RRC Polytech Campus. This position may be asked to travel to China.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
- Completion of a certificate, diploma, bachelors, and/or masters in the field of Education and/or Teaching and Learning; a combination of education and experience may be considered
- Fluency in Mandarin
- Familiarity and hands-on experience with distance-delivered online courses including use of a Learning Management System (LMS) and online video-conferencing software(s)
- Relevant experience teaching adults at a post-secondary level
- Current research-based knowledge and practical experience in the field of education and teaching
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated experience in the Microsoft Suite programs
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to use conflict resolution techniques to facilitate positive outcomes and work within a team environment
- Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement

- Salary Range for this position: $28.95 - $40.75 hourly
- Generous Paid Vacation: full-time employees accumulate a minimum of 15-days vacation per year, increasing to 30 days with service, while full-time Instructors accumulate 44 days per year. Information on casual and part-time vacation accrual is outlined in the Collective Agreement or the Terms and Conditions for Excluded Employees as applicable
- December Break: employees receive time off with pay during the period between Boxing Day and New Year's Day
