REQUIRED: One (1)) Full-Time Child & Family Service Liaison Worker
LOCATION: KSMA Sub-Office, 585 Century, Winnipeg, Manitoba
The Child & Family Service Liaison Worker will work as a team member to case manage files between the head office and sub-office for the protection and care of children by addressing the prevention, awareness and education of child abuse and neglect.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
• Responsible for the case management of children in care and family services files by complying with the Child & Family Services Act and Program Standards.
• Responsible for assessing family functions and risk factors to children’s safety and implement intervention plans to address the child protection and family support issues and permanency planning.
• To work cooperatively and effectively with other resource workers, including those in the field of education, community health, recreation, alcohol and drug abuse and prevention, social services, family court and other Child & Family Services in order to strengthen and unify children and families.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• BSW Degree or combination of education & training in social sciences,
• Knowledge of Social Work, Child Welfare, Manitoba CFS Act, Program Standards and Aboriginal Justice Inquiry-Child Welfare Initiative,
• Ability and experience working effectively within a team environment and independently,
• Excellent interpersonal skills, such as oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to speak and understand the Cree language,
• Ability to use a variety of computer applications,
• Ability to work overtime hours,
• Ability to travel,
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
