Position Overview:
We are seeking an OT Applications Engineer to join our Telecommunications Department in Winnipeg Manitoba.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and troubleshoot real-time problems with the ADMS, AEMS and interfaces to other systems on a day-to-day basis as part of the DSS team.
- Provide engineering support, technical guidance, and training with respect to the maintenance, security, and operation of the ADMS/AEMS and GridOS. Seek opportunities for creative solutions and innovative implementations.
- Design and develop software solutions for the ADMS/AEMS and other OT systems.
- Apply DevSecOps principles wherever possible in development, testing, and maintenance of supported systems.
- Provide maintenance and support for all categories of applications used by System Control and related departments at the Control Centre.
- Ensure all aspects of implementation, integration and operation of new system designs, meet the needs and operating requirements of the Control Centre.
- Interface with maintainers of connected systems to ensure system operation and reliability.
- Review the performance of a wide range of proprietary and off the shelf software and critical systems, analyze changes to system and user requirements, and develop and implement software solutions as required.
- As required, provide 24-hour support (standby) to the System Control Centre as part of the CCTS on-call rotation.
Qualifications:
- Graduate in Electrical or Computer Engineering from a university of recognized standing with a minimum of four years of related engineering experience.
- Professional member in good standing with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba (or willingness and ability to attain within a specified amount of time).
- Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Training is required and must be completed no later than two weeks after the start date.
- Must have completed Standards of Conduct training or be willing to complete it within two weeks of the start date.
- Possess a valid Province of Manitoba Driver's Licence.
- Must obtain and maintain a current Personnel Risk Assessment and a "Clear" security rating in accordance with Manitoba Hydro policy P513.Effective in performing engineering analysis, developing solutions, integrating software solutions, and software development best practices.
- Experience in software development and programming using C++, Python, Visual Studio, scripting tools, and utilities.
- Experience with CI/CD.
- Ability to work in a technical team environment.
- Experience writing technical documentation for applications or systems.
- Effective in providing technical guidance and problem management skills to the ongoing operations of computer systems.
- Experience with ADMS/AEMS/GridOS products is an asset.
- Must have the capability to effectively coordinate projects and to adjust to frequently changing priorities.
- Present strong communication skills and capable of explaining complex ideas to all levels of audiences.
- Possess initiative and mature judgment with the ability to make and implement sound decisions.
- Adept in the latest technological developments, continuously updating and maintaining technical knowledge in keeping with changing technology.
- Willing to represent the corporation on external committees and working groups.
- Ability to be tactful and diplomatic with the ability to gain the confidence of others.
Salary Range
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The range for the Professional Engineer II classification is $44.75-$61.75 Hourly, $85,745.40-$118,316.64 Annually. The range for the Engineer-in-Training classification is $33.48-$47.12 Hourly, $64,162.80-$90,284.22 Annually.
