Receptionist – ANISH Healing Centre, AMIK Inc., and Akiing Onji Foundation

Are you an organized, compassionate individual ready to make a difference in a dynamic, community-focused setting? We’re looking for a Receptionist to be the welcoming face and voice of the ANISH Healing Centre, AMIK Inc., and Akiing Onji Foundation. In this key role, you’ll help ensure smooth daily operations while providing top-notch service to clients, participants, and partners.

You’ll juggle event registrations, administrative tasks, and assist the bookkeeper’s assistant in maintaining accurate financial records. If you thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and are passionate about supporting Indigenous communities, we’d love to meet you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create a welcoming environment: Greet visitors, answer calls, respond to emails, and assist in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Support daily operations: Sort mail, maintain office supplies, and handle event and workshop registrations.
  • Participant and event support: Manage accurate participant databases, assist with events and workshops, and prepare materials for programming.
  • Financial assistance: Work with the bookkeeper’s assistant to process payments and ensure financial records are kept up-to-date.
  • Office management: Keep the reception area clean and inviting, manage the coffee and tea station, and help with office tasks such as filing, faxing, and data entry.
  • Event setup and breakdown: Collaborate with staff to prepare for events, including set-up and clean-up.
  • Clerical support: Take minutes during meetings, transcribe notes, and perform other clerical tasks as needed.
  • Social media management: Regularly update the social media pages for ANISH Healing Centre, AMIK Inc., and Akiing Onji Foundation.
  • Assist leadership: Provide additional support to the Executive Director, Assistant Executive Director, and CEO as required.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; office administration qualifications are a plus.
  • Experience in reception, administration, or customer service.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy, community-driven environment.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous culture, traditions, and the history of Indian Residential Schools is an asset.
  • Experience working with diverse communities, especially Indigenous groups, is highly valued.

  • Full-time, in-office position.
  • Occasional evening or weekend work may be required, depending on events or programming schedules.
