• Assist tradespeople and technicians in the performance of their duties.
• Assist with rough carpentry and concrete work, grouting and cement finishing, bricklaying, fence erection and building erection.
• Assist in plant cleanliness, painting, grass cutting, landscaping, maintenance of roads and grounds, and snow removal.
• Ensure that duties performed comply with Corporate and regulatory environmental requirements. Report any incidents or situations that may be harmful to the environment or in violation of corporate or regulatory requirements.
• Operate simple electrical and pneumatic tools.
• Perform rigging work which will require climbing ability.
• Operate the following mobile equipment as required: cars, trucks, track-mobiles, tractors, front-end loaders, backhoe, Grader, snowmobile, motor boat, powerhouse cranes and other light equipment.
• Assist in the placement and removal of stop logs on forebay and tailrace.
• Required to install and remove cavitation scaffolding as needed.
• Required to perform grinding duties during the turbine runner repairs and assist in scroll case inspections.
• May be required to direct and train junior personnel in work engaged in the station.

• Minimum Grade 10 education or equivalent.
• Required to have a minimum of one-year related experience.
• Possess a valid Manitoba Driver's Licence and be willing to obtain a Class 3 Licence with air brake endorsement.
• Experience Operating Wheeled Loader and Grader considered an asset.
• Semi-skilled in the work of the building trades.
• Physically capable of working at heights and in adverse weather conditions.
• Fully understand and adhere to regulations pertaining to the use of power tools and Corporation safety rules.
• Capable of understanding and following written and oral instructions, plans and sketches of small projects.
• Requires the ability to work harmoniously with fellow employees.

• This position is part of North Central Operation, Jenpeg/Wuskwatim/Kelsey/Laurie River/CRD.
• Primary work location of position will be Kelsey & Laurie River.
• The normal bi-weekly work period will consist of 8 consecutive workdays, Tuesday to Tuesday followed by 6 consecutive days off.
• May be required to work at other locations within North Central Generation Department, and where transportation between these sites may be an aircraft.
